Mbilima is one of Rwanda’s highest washing stations sitting at just over 2000 metres above sea level. The surrounding area’s mineral rich soil and climate makes it ideal for specialty coffee production. By Rwandan standards, Mbilima washing station is quite small, receiving cherry from only 459 local producers in the area. Quality control and day-to-day operations at Mbilima are overseen by the washing station manager John Bosco Habimana.
